Comparative analysis of morphometrics of fish species from river Ganga and Gomti of Uttar Pradesh (India)

The present study aimed to investigate the morphometric characters of fish species, Labeo rohita, Rita rita, Wallago attu and Mystus aor sampled from two aquatic habitats, Gomti River nearby Lucknow Ganga at Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Both rivers are extremely cherished as they full natural resources highly rich in faunal floral diversity. A total 100 specimens each species were collected during October, 2021 January, 2022. seventeen parameters selected for comparative differential analysis population stocks habitats. quantitative measurements all delivered important information about growth body parts fishes different ecosystem. variations morphometry individuals a illustrated alterations status under environmental circumstances. approach can be strategic tool explore shape formation ecosystems. analyzed data dimensions four would beneficial policy makers or planners develop scientific strategies their protection conservation. findings will also set principles management sustainable development commercially essential freshwater food fishes.
